Delegate Statement

Platform: Uniswap needs to increase its own decentralization, and do so quickly! Having a rich network of delegates independent from Labs or the Foundation is key to increasing its decentralization and protecting it from the creeping regulatory bodies who would like to capture the protocol.

Next year: Ideally, Uniswap becomes a model for DeFi DAOs in terms of decentralization, community involvement in governance, and technical tooling for decentralized decision-making.

My reasons: As the ecosystem lead of Snapshot, and a diehard fan of DAOs, I think Uniswap is potentially the most significant proof that such a key platform can be run by a decentralized organization. Few projects have the scale, ambition, and potential impact of Uniswap. If Uniswap shows that DAOs can work to govern a young and very technical product, then what can't DAOs do?

Skills: Whether as part of my job helping thousands of DAOs at Snapshot, or my work as an active delegate in Optimism, Arbitrum, Safe, and Starknet's governance, I have learned a lot about the useless fluff of DAOs and what constitutes important work. DAOs have shown glimpses of great efficiency, and the most important thing I think I can bring is that knowledge and a no-bullshit focus on efficiency. I've been helping to design good governance frameworks, have done extensive user research on the subject, and can help bring the industry's best practices to Uniswap.

Past contributions: Nothing noteworthy.

3 past proposals: Uniswap deployment on Gnosis Chain: For, this would've been a great opportunity for cross-chain governance that allows governance on one chain to deploy contracts on another one. This is something we're working on with Snapshot X so I'm quite familiar with the issue. Accountability Committee for Deployments: For, this ties to the previous point, this is a hard problem that should be studied by professionals. I would've liked to see a longer term for this committee to minimize governance fatigue. v3deployments.uniswap.eth subdomain: For, adds clarity and facilitates further housekeeping.

Disclosure: I work for Snapshot Labs, a company making DAO tooling including the Snapshot platform which is used by Uniswap for its governance. I think this is potentially a strength as I can inform both Snapshot better on the needs of Uniswap DAO, and advise Uniswap DAO on the latest developments of Snapshot and how to get the most of them.

Top Issues

DAO working groups
DAO working groups
Independent working groups are necessary to unleash the global creativity of Uniswap stakeholders. These working groups should be funded by the Foundation, and try to provide different opinions. A good way of achieving this would be to focus on engaging with underrepresented groups (in general, challenge the western-centric status quo in crypto).
Public goods
Public goods
Creating an ecosystem of value-aligned projects around Uniswap while respecting the high quality standard associated with the Uniswap brand will be very complex. The key word here will be quality, not quantity. Encouraging the best of the best to build a public goods ecosystem around Uniswap will require a lot of scrutiny. Delegates have a high responsibility here.
Meta governance
Meta governance
The greatest threat to a project like Uniswap lies in regulation. The Foundation should fund a Meta-DAO that is specialized in issues of governance <> regulation and ensures that decisions around Uniswap are taken in a decentralized manner.
