What do you want to see happen in Uniswap governance over the next year?
An ethos toward social decentralization is a critical component for the success of any decentralized protocol. Uniswap is no exception, and could very well pioneer that kind of soft effort much like it pioneered the technical architecture of DeFi.
In this vein, we love to see initiatives like this delegate race, which demonstrate the community's desire for soft efforts toward social decentralization.
Diversification of voice and power are also critical for decentralized governance. While progress has been made, UNI governance is still heavily influenced by large token holders and entities. Mechanisms like quadratic voting could help to address this, but there are other higher-level principles to consider for diversification activity. For example, we can prioritize flexibility over consolidation in the “entropy” of something like soft power — incentivizing active participation and encouraged decision-making — much like how the concept of money “velocity” incentivizes spending over hoarding. This might help to better facilitate the sharing of any power, whenever and wherever it starts to stagnate. We can also focus on simple transparency of time horizons, rather than battles between "short-term" or "long-term" interests.
Another gap in governance is the accountability of delegates to their delegators. Periods of coordinated communication from delegates to their delegators could enhance community transparency and promote better accountability practices.
Overall, the success of Uniswap governance relies on our ability to be flexible and evolve through increased community participation from diverse stakeholders. And we’re onboard to help make that happen.

Reasons for wanting to be a delegate
she256 fundamentally believes that blockchain technology will shape our future financial and governance structures. We exists to help build these systems so they are representative of the global, diverse population which they intend to serve.
We see Uniswap as a core functionality for users both on Ethereum and across chains. It provides a safe, secure and mature platform, which caters for both experienced users and newcomers. By providing a crucial service to all users, we believe Uniswap provides an equitable experience.
Numerous studies have shown that diversity within organizations boosts innovation and drives increased profitability. Delegating to she256 encourages more diverse participation in Uniswap, and stimulates an environment ripe to produce more innovative products and superior financial returns.
We believe we can be neutral governance participants who will represent the values and interests of our allies and underrepresented folks in crypto, as well as Uniswap ecosystem. By delegating to us, you’ll be an ally to our cause.

Skills and areas of expertise:
Our core governance team represents a wide range of expertise: we’re made up of engineers who focus on protocols, Ethereum infrastructure, Smart Contract Engineering and ecosystem developers as well as investors and legal and policy expertise. The she256 team as a whole comprises of individuals active in web3, contributing to projects and entities such NEAR, Celo, Opyn, Variant, Union, Metamask, Orca, Gitcoin, and many more.

Past contributions to Uniswap ecosystem and/or demonstrated protocol knowledge (if applicable):
she256 has been an active governance participant as a delegate within the Uniswap ecosystem since 2021. We have hosted twitter spaces and live panels to educate our communities.
One of our core Governance Team members is currently serving on the inaugural Uniswap Accountability Committee for Deployments, to further the active governance of the operational development of deployments of Uniswap v3 on other chains.

What are your views on 3 past Uniswap governance proposals?
- Create v3deployments.uniswap.eth subdomain and populate its text fields [link]
- We voted FOR this proposal. In the post BSL license expiration world, this proposal helps us move towards a world which identifies “official deployments” of Uniswap on different chains. Whilst the conversation around identifying official deployments can be complex and nuanced, the accountability and quality assurance provided by a deployment recognised by the Uniswap DAO is important. This gives users more confidence to interact with Uniswap across chains and protects them from scams and malicious code.

- We published this onchain proposal, so naturally are in favor of this initiative. Accountability is one of the core values for she256 governance and is extremely important in the Uniswap ecosystem to ensure that governance makes decisions based on thorough data and evaluation. Given the diverse backgrounds of the committee members (including our own Kendra Leong, who continually provides critical and unique legal expertise), we believe the committee is well setup to make important evaluations around questions such as bridging and disclosure processes. We also believe the committee should be held to a high standard of upholding the work they set out to do.
- Uniswap v3 Gnosis [link]
- We voted FOR this proposal. We are generally in favor of deploying Uniswap v3 on new chains and agree with the Multichain Uniswap thesis. We recognize the ongoing analysis of bridge providers and that its conclusions could affect this proposal. However, we believe the proposed bridge provider is strong enough in terms of background and audits to not delay this proposal. We thought the proposal addressed this concern well, by saying “Note that we are not against changing this design through governance later on should a more secure and efficient method arise.”
