Delegate Statement

404 DAO seeks to support the development of new applications in the Uniswap ecosystem, expanding the range of users, and accumulating value to the holders of the Uniswap governance token and relevant stakeholders.

What do you want to see happen in Uniswap governance over the next year?

Uniswap is in a great position to continue to lead the DEX industry. Uniswap has been a leader over the past couple years but now faces competition from challengers with new takes on the AMM-model. We see the role of Uniswap governance to engage directly with these challenges so that users can receive the best execution environment possible while interfacing with a trusted and high-quality front-end they’re familiar with.

Reasons for wanting to be a delegate:

404 DAO prides itself on our ability to engage financially and technically on a range of protocols throughout the cryptocurrency industry. While we have focused primarily on layer-2 protocols, we see Uniswap delegation as a unique opportunity to expand our operations to the entire blockchain stack including applications and DeFi, giving us a unique perspective on the potential growth of the industry, and how Uniswap lays a critical foundation for its continued growth.

Skills and areas of expertise:

Our team encompasses a wide range of both technical and non-technical backgrounds. These range from analytics, tokenomics, and business development to cybersecurity and MEV. The 404 DAO governance team is composed primarily of current and former Georgia Tech students with a wide range of degrees including: Computer Science, Data Science, Business, Finance, Cybersecurity that makes us uniquely able to apply expertise in a wide range of interdisciplinary challenges.

Past contributions to Uniswap ecosystem and/or demonstrated protocol knowledge (if applicable):

While 404 DAO has not been publicly involved in Uniswap governance, this positions us to provide a unique outsider perspective on future proposals and discussions. Our expertise in other areas of DeFi and cryptocurrency is particularly relevant to the types of challenges faced by Uniswap, and we relish the opportunity to apply that knowledge to one of the most essential DeFi protocols operating in the space today.

What are your views on 3 past Uniswap governance proposals?

38: Create v3deployments.uniswap.eth subdomain and populate its text fields Our team believes DAOs should strive for transparency across their operations and thus support this proposal.

37: Uniswap Deployments Accountability Committee We view this as a step in the direction of offloading unnecessary DAO tasks to trusted committees voted in by the DAO and as a committee that represents the best interest of the DAO.

36: Uniswap v3 Gnosis We support this proposal as it was previously passed and deployment was put on hold due to the Nomad Bridge exploit.

Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest:

We are active 404 DAO delegates for Arbitrum, Optimism, dYdX, and RocketPool

Considering Uniswap's leading position in the market, we assert that any decision affecting the MEV economy should be subjected to thorough scrutiny. The ultimate goal should be to enhance the user experience and distribute the extracted value more democratically.

We view the adoption of the fee switch as an unavoidable path that the protocol will take. We advocate for a methodical and considerate approach to manage this transition, given the manifold layers of intricacy involved.
Public goods
Public goods
Uniswap boasts a robust history of supporting the industry via the Uniswap Foundation. As a non-profit body, we continuously embrace the opportunity to contribute to public goods funding, ensuring the policies employed are effective, quantifiable, and fair.
